ausgehend von judenburg, der geburtsstätte alfons “xenophon” hochhausers, wurde dem weg in seine persönliche freiheit, nach kap kouluri auf den pilion in griechenland gefolgt.
seine wirkungsstätten wurden aufgesucht, freunde und bewunderer berichten über den vorreiter eines ökologischen tourismus, freiheitsnarr und assistenten von hans hass.
interviews mit menschen am weg zu freiheit, glück und heimat(en), zeigen die aktualität des weges xenophons auf.

natureindrücke begleiten den film bis hin zum letzten weg hochausers in die verschneiten höhen des pilion, um zuletzt seine aufbahrungsstätte in seiner mythischen heimat aufzufinden.
ein poetischer kurzfilm zu abenteuerlust, freiheitsdrang, unabhängigkeit, fernweh und heimat(en).

entstanden während des AIR aufenthaltes in Judenburg 2013.

Following the inspiring life and death of Alfons Xenophon Hochhauser, a pioneer of ecological tourism, double agent, assistant of Hans Hass and passionate freedom fighter, we ask questions of universal values. A poetic film to relish adventure, freedom penetration, independence of luck, wanderlust and home.

English synopsis (long):
A short documentary about the actuality of Xenophons visions of freedom, sustainability, green tourism, ecology, and alternative forms of living.
Starting from Judenburg (aut), the birth place of Alfons Xenophon Hochhauser, the film follows his personal way of freedom to cape Kouluri on the foot of the mountains of the greek Pilion.
Friends and admirers report the pioneer of ecological tourism, double agent, assistant of the deep see filmmaker Hans Hass on his expeditions, and outlaw.
Interviews with people on the way to to the themas freedom, happiness and home shows the timelessness of the way Xenophons.
Natural impressions and the ruins of his living place in his exile home accompany the movie up to the last way of Hochauser into the snowy heights of the Pilion to locate his “last way” in laying out his mythical homeland.
This silent hero died like he lived – painful but self determined and free.
